Director Ben Yang from the International Department of Laurel University (Canada) Visited JZMU

On October 25th, Mr. Ben Young, director of the International Department of Laurel University, Canada, was invited to visit JZMU. President Ding Weiguang and Director Ben Yang had a seminar on establishing a cooperative relationship between the universities, and conducting academic exchanges. Heads of Office of Human Resources, Office of Academic Affairs, International Exchange and Cooperation Center, Teaching Evaluation Center, School of Sports and Exercise Rehabilitation, School of Medical Humanities, Modern Industrial School of Health Management, and College of International Education attended the conference.

President Ding Weiguang welcomed Ben Yang and briefly introduced the history, talent cultivation, scientific research, social service, cultural inheritance, and international exchange and cooperation in JZMU. He hoped to promote high-quality development of JZMU through inter-university exchange and cooperation, further cultivate the cross-cultural communication ability of teachers and students, enhance the internationalized education in JZMU, and deepen mutual understanding and promote practical cooperation between the two sides through this visit. Heads of relevant departments reached a consensus on programs of teacher training, student exchange, course introduction, and international conferences.

In the afternoon, Director Ben Yang gave a lecture in the library entitled “Internationalization of Higher Education in the Context of the Hundred Years of Great Changes: Opportunities and Challenges of Cross Cultural Exchange”. In the background of globalization, he interpreted how to enhance cross-cultural communication capabilities, become international talents, and tell Chinese stories from the perspectives of building a community with a shared future for mankind, asymmetric exchanges with outside world, international vision and globalization pattern, cultural values, etc. He also exchanged and interacted with teachers and students on issues such as conducting cross-cultural communication and adapting to cross-cultural differences. The lecture was highly praised by the attending teachers and student for its broad vision, profound thoughts, and rich connotations.
